(www.VSTE.org) | Keith David Reeves is the author of "Insurrection: A Teacher Revolution in Defense of Children," and the co-author of "Paperless Research Writing: Effective Digital Scaffolding for Academic Writing using the Moulen-Reeves Model." A native of Syracuse, New York, he has taught every grade level, K through 12, in underprivileged and affluent schools in both rural and urban settings, as well as educational methods at the university level. He was a middle school and high school band director, and now serves as the educational technology administrator at Discovery Elementary School in Arlington, Virginia, the first net-zero energy school in the Commonwealth and the largest in the mid-Atlantic. An avowed radical pedagogue, he is a vocal advocate for revolutionizing schools to put authentic student learning first in the public schools through applied, skills-based teaching with technology-integrated, student-centered curricula for individual comprehension and relevance, and actively opposes the use of inaccurate, irrelevant standardized tests. He is the co-host of "The Seditionists," and has been a keynote and panel speaker throughout the east coast, and has appeared on NPR, Huff Post Live, and 21clRadio.
